Di Fara Pizza

Prepare for hand snipped basil & an hour+ wait. This no-frills spot is made famous by the guy who makes the pies, Domenico DeMarco who has been making them himself since the early ‘60s. Di Fara's pies are straight up New York pizza, topped with sweet tomato sauce, a salty mix of cheeses, fresh basil, and a drizzle of oil.

Kesté Pizza

“Pizzaiolo Caporuscio forms and punches dough, tops it with San Marzano tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella—the classic!— and fires quickly in a wood-fired oven built by experts from Naples. Charred with desirable air pockets, this pizza proves that perfection can be found in simplicity and it’s a New York City favorite.” - Alain Ducasse

Emmy Squared

Compared to its older sister Emily — the beloved Clinton Hill pizzeria and burger joint — Emmy Squared has similarities but also a major, key difference: Detroit-style pies. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled onto the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior.

LOCATIONS
364 Grand St, Brooklyn, NY 11211
404 12th Avenue South, Nashville, Tennessee 37203

Rubirosa

A family-run, Italian-American, neighborhood ristorante and pizzeria in the heart of Nolita famous for their pizzas — such as the vodka pie and the Rubirosa Supreme — classic dishes like mini rice balls and meatballs alongside a wide array of pastas made fresh in-house daily. A dark space with a homey and comfortable atmosphere welcomes every occasion, from family-style group dining to drinks and antipastos at the bar.

LOCATION
1235 Mulberry Street New York, NY 10012

Marta

Danny Meyer's refined pizzeria serves cracker-thin pizza & other modern Italian fare in a polished hotel dining room with an open kitchen.

LOCATION
29 E 29th St, New York, NY 10016 (Midtown South)

Lil Frankies

There's nothing game-changing or trendy about Lil Frankie’s Neapolitan-style pizza, but when a pie is just plain good—and consistent—it’s just great. The crust comes out of a custom brick oven looking like an inflatable pool: An airy, outer cornicione puffs to the max with charred bubbles, while its softer middle holds up to dollops of mozzarella and whole leaves of fresh basil and spicy salami.

LOCATION
19 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10003 (East Village)
